Great quality Japanese Tsuba 鍔 Mokko from Katana Koshirae
Mokko gata with gold Fukurin mimi Takabori design
This Tsuba is a shakudo mokko gata with gold fukurin mimi with a takabori design. Attributed to Kikugawa Nanpo (菊川南甫) from the Kikugawa School popular during the latter part of the Tokugawa shogunate who is known to have been practicing during the later half of the nineteenth century. Kikugawa was a pupil of Muneyo-shi and later studied the work of Chizuka-Hisanari.

Condition: Good condition with a beautiful patina. The gold in the engravings shows wear and tear that does not affect the high-relief engravings themselves
